Welcome to repair together

This unique event series is part of the Museum of Technology’s inclusive activities. Repair Thursdays are free for participants and offer guidance in both Finnish and English, making it easily accessible to a wide audience.

What Does Repair Thursday Include?

Every Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the Museum of Technology opens its doors to anyone who wants to fix broken items or learn how to do repairs themselves. The event always has two knowledgeable instructors present to guide and assist participants in various repair tasks. Each month, the event also features visiting experts from different repair fields, offering participants the chance to learn new skills through different themed sessions.

Kasia from Upstitch Studio and Isabella from Dome Upcycling at Your Service Every Week

Repair Thursday is led by Kasia and Isabella, skilled and experienced professionals in textile and repair work. With their guidance, participants can either repair items themselves or receive assistance. Repair tasks can range from textiles to small wood and metal objects. Instruction is available in both Finnish and English.

Entry and Pricing

On Thursdays, entry to the Museum of Technology is based on a “Pay What You Want” principle, allowing visitors to choose the amount they pay for admission.

Repair Thursday offers two options for repairs:

  • Learn to repair an item yourself: Free for participants.
  • Get an item repaired: Pricing is determined by the item, the work required, and the repair method. Payments can be made by cash, card, or mobile payment.

Safety and Participation Guidelines

Repair Thursdays are designed as an adult-oriented event, as the workshop involves tools that may be sharp or hazardous, such as needles, adhesives, hammers, and drills. However, the event is open to anyone aged 12 and above.
