The immersive sound and light installation MUT-AT1-0NS can be experienced in the Suodatinhalli of the Museum of Technology on 5.7. – 9.7.2023 and 18.7. – 13.8.2023. In the installation, the participants create a short piece of music while moving through it. Motion sensors sense the movement of a person and with the help of pre-composed music parts produce their own song for each person.

At the beginning, the visitor chooses the one sound option from the three sound palettes on the tablet in front of the entrance. After this it is activated and produces multi-channel immersive sound and creates light effects, reacting to the visitor’s movements. When leaving installation, the visitor is faced with another tablet with QR code, from which it is possible to download the piece to their own device or share it on social media.

Each individual visit is limited to one minute in length, so that we can offer the opportunity for everyone. The work is included in the price of admission. We also accept Museum card. The Suodatinhalli is open according to the opening hours of the museum.

The Ghost and the Invention Device is an interactive and child-centered learning environment that includes versatile learning methods. The environment together with museum objects support children’s creative museum engagement and encourages them to observe, handle and understand technology as a part of their everyday life.
