Home on/off/on-installation on/off/on-installation How has the plant lived as part of our time, and what kinds of futures can we imagine for it? The Hanasaari power plant was closed on April 1, 2023, yet it is still very much part of the cityscape of Helsinki, a physical sign of how technological development changes our environment. The on/off/on installation puts the Hanasaari power plant area under a magnifying glass, examining it through the past, present and future. How has the plant lived as part of our time, and what kinds of futures can we imagine for it? The installation consists of photographs and soundscapes recorded by the Finnish Museum of Technology in 2022-2023, a video by visual artist Leevi Toija, who explores the Hanasaari power plant in 2026, and a short essay written by Henriikka Reitala. The installation is open during the museum`s opening hours from March 27 to August 30 2026. Exhibition Information 27.3.2026 - 30.8.2026
