The Museum of Technology is the only general museum of technology in Finland. The Museum of Technology highlights basic technological phenomena, technical inventions and industrial processes, and tells the story about Finland and the Finns.

Exhibitions and services

Most of the temporary exhibitions of the museum are also in English and Swedish. Permanent exhibitions mainly are only in Finnish. However, guided tours are available in English.

Opening hours

Tue-Wed, Fri 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thu 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Sat - Sun 11 a.m - 5 p.m.

Closed on Mondays.

Summer Hours

Tue-Wed, Fri - Sun 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thu 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Closed on Mondays.

Summer hours will apply from 7th of June to 8th of August 2016.


There is free entry to the Museum of Technology for the time being. We are in the process of starting to renew our galleries and exhibitions, which aim to improve visitor experience in the future. We regret any inconvenience.

How to get here?

The Museum of Technology is located about 20 minutes drive from the Helsinki city center.
